3 Reasons To Not Rely On The Internet For Your Television Needs

Posted on: 10 June 2015

With the rise of binge watching TV shows, TV shows that are made specifically for different Internet streaming providers, and content that is constantly on demand, many people are considering getting rid of cable TV entirely. This is not a good idea because cable TV provides a number of advantages over simply relying on the Internet for your television needs.

1. Cable Is Less Complicated

In order to get all of the content that you want to watch on the Internet, you're going to have to sign up with several different Internet streaming services that have different contracts with different cable channels. You're also going to have to pay for all of these services, without any guarantee that you're always going to have access to the shows that you want to see. Finally, you're also going to constantly need to keep track of when the episodes of your favorite shows are going to be available. Some streaming services will offer an episode of a show a week after it comes out on television, but it will only be available for a two week period starting at that date.

With cable television, you only have to worry about paying one bill per month, and this bill can usually be bundled with your Internet, which will make it cost less in the long run.

2. Cable Now Offers Streaming Services

Another huge reason why you shouldn't get rid of your cable television subscription is because now most cable providers will offer streaming sites for those who pay for their services. You can usually use the number on your cable box and use it to access the show that's online mere minutes after it's aired on television. This gives you greater access to the television shows that you love because the time it takes for the show to be up on a cable streaming site is anywhere between a week shorter to an entire year shorter than the leading Internet streaming services.

3. You Don't Have To Worry About Spoilers

If you get rid of your cable subscription, it's very likely that you'll have the ending of the most popular TV shows spoiled before you can watch them online. By keeping your cable TV subscription, you'll be able to make sure that you see the episode the day it airs and avoid having someone accidentally tell you that your favorite character died before you can see it for yourself.
